The Knights of the Southern Cross is an order of Catholic men committed to promoting the Christian way of life throughout Australia. The mission of the Group is to install and maintain Christian values and ethics in society to promote the advancement of Australia by encouraging social and intellectual activities amongst members of the Order; and to encourage the conduct and support of education, charitable, religious and social welfare work. The work of the order is divided into portfolios: Economics, Community Relations, Membership and Social. A variety of other activities exist including the Southern Cross Golf Club and a Turf Club.

Recent years have seen a focus on addressing some of the challenges of a society which has become very secular, anti-life and materialistic.

The group meets every week and membership is open to all Catholic men over the age of 18.
