Get Informed

In Australia, around 75 per cent of men and 85 per cent of women are now reaching retirement age with around 20 years of life ahead of them. They are in relatively good health and with significant opportunities for leisure, family life, social engagement and continued employment. (Social Justice Statement 2016–17)

We are in a new moment in human history, when so many of us are living longer and have many active years ahead of us. What are the implications for Australians? Do we see the same benefits elsewhere, especially in poorer countries?
